No. 12 Sooners Fall to No. 9 San Diego

NORMAN – The No. 12 Oklahoma men's tennis team came up short to the No. 9 San Diego Toreros in Saturday's afternoon road match at the Hogan Tennis Center.
Oklahoma fell behind after losing the doubles point. The Sooners won the match at the two line, 6-2 but lost the one and three matchups, costing them the point. The match at the one spot saw freshman Oscar Lacies and junior Bruno Nhavene drop the match, 4-6, to the No. 1 ranked pair in the country.
Lacides dropped his match to No. 2 Oliver Tarvet, 4-6, 0-6, and was soon followed by freshman Alejandro Melero's 4-6, 3-6 loss.
Sooners Luis Alvarez and Jordan Hasson both took first set wins and were ahead near the ends of their matches when sophomore Kholo Montsi came up short at the two spot, 6-7(4), 4-6.
UP NEXT
The Sooners return to competition after a short break to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks in the first SEC match at home. The match is slated for Monday, Feb. 24, at 1 p.m. CT.
