Sooners Conclude Play at TCU Jae Foundation Invitational

FORT WORTH, Texas — The Oklahoma women's tennis team closed out play at the TCU Jae Foundation Invitational on Sunday at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.

The Sooners finished the three-day event with 13 total victories – 11 in singles and two in doubles

Senior Ava Catanzarite secured a team-high four singles wins, while freshman Cara Mester led the Sooners with a pair of wins in doubles action.

Catanzarite did not drop a set throughout the weekend, outscoring her opponents 50-27. The Pittsburgh, Pa., native capped her perfect tournament with a 6-3, 6-4 win over SMU's Arianna Stavropoulos.

Teaming up with fellow freshman Emma Ghirardato, Mester first notched a 6-3 victory on Saturday over Northwestern's Neena Feldman and Erica Jessel before pairing up with Catanzarite to deliver a 6-3 win against Kida Ferrari and Ariel Madatali of Illinois.

The Sooners will be back in action Nov. 7-10, splitting time between the ITA Conference Masters Championships in San Diego, Calif., and the ITA Sectional Championships in Ann Arbor, Mich.
