NORMAN — The Oklahoma men's and women's track and field teams head to Eugene, Ore., this week for the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, set for June 10-13 at the iconic Hayward Field. Nine Sooners will compete across 10 events after advancing through the NCAA West Preliminary Round in Fayetteville, Ark.
A year ago, the Sooner men finished sixth and the women placed 14th at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, marking the first time in program history both programs finished inside the top 15 at the national meet.
Fans can follow live results via Flash Results. ESPN will broadcast Wednesday's competition, while ESPN2 will carry coverage Thursday through Saturday. Broadcast coverage begins at 5 p.m. PT each day.
The championships open Wednesday for Oklahoma with Colton Rhodes in the men's pole vault at 5:35 p.m. PT. Kennedy Stringfellow follows in the men's long jump at 6:40 p.m. PT.
Thursday's action begins at 2:30 p.m. PT with Kennedy Clarke in the women's hammer throw before Domtila Cheruto competes in the women's 10,000 meters at 7:55 p.m. PT.
On Friday, Angel Richmore opens competition in the heptathlon with the 100-meter hurdles at 11:45 a.m. PT. Ralford Mullings will compete in the men's discus at 2:15 p.m. PT, followed by Kyren Washington in the men's high jump at 4:30 p.m. PT and BJ Green in the men's triple jump at 6:10 p.m. PT.
The final day of competition starts Saturday with Chesni Scott in the women's discus at 11:30 a.m. PT. Richmore will continue heptathlon competition beginning with the long jump at 2:30 p.m. PT, while Cheruto returns for the women's 5,000 meters later that evening.
BJ Green enters the championships as one of the nation's most decorated triple jumpers after winning both the SEC Outdoor Championship and NCAA West Regional title. The senior will make his fourth NCAA Outdoor Championships appearance and will look to defend his national title after winning the event in 2025.
Ralford Mullings returns to Eugene as the reigning NCAA outdoor champion in the men's discus. The SEC champion and NCAA West Regional champion owns one of the top marks in the nation this season. Along with Green, Mullings will look to become the first Sooner to repeat as an NCAA men's outdoor champion.
Kennedy Stringfellow has enjoyed a breakout first season in Norman, posting a season-best 8.07m (26'5.75") in the long jump and earning SEC Field Athlete of the Week honors. The Mississippi State transfer enters the meet ranked among the nation's top long jumpers.
Kyren Washington returns to the NCAA Outdoor Championships for the third time in his career after qualifying with a season-best clearance of 2.17m (7'1.50") at the NCAA West Preliminary Round. The junior is seeking his first outdoor podium finish after earning multiple All-America honors during the indoor season.
Colton Rhodes qualified for his second consecutive NCAA Outdoor Championships in the pole vault after clearing a season-best 5.37m (17'7.25") at the West Regional.
On the women's side, Kennedy Clarke returns to the national stage after qualifying in the hammer throw for the second straight year. The senior advanced with a 64.91m (212'11.00") toss in Arkansas.
Freshman Domtila Cheruto continues a remarkable debut season after qualifying in both the 5,000 and 10,000 meters. The freshman owns four school records and earned SEC bronze in the 10,000 meters earlier this season.
Angel Richmore automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships in the heptathlon after recording one of the top-24 marks in the nation. The SEC bronze medalist will make her third NCAA Outdoor Championships appearance.
Chesni Scott rounds out Oklahoma's qualifiers after earning her first trip to nationals with a season-best throw of 55.24m (181'3.00") in the discus at the NCAA West Preliminary Round.
The Sooners are in their second season in the SEC, one of the premier conferences in collegiate track and field. In their inaugural season, Oklahoma captured eight individual conference titles and finished fourth on the women's side at the 2025 SEC Indoor Championship. At the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships, the men earned a sixth-place finish, the program's best outdoor nationals result in 28 years.
