NORMANĀ  — Oklahoma Soccer wraps up the first half of conference play at Texas Sunday, Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. from Mike A. Myers Stadium.Ā

HOW TO FOLLOW
Sunday's game will be nationally televised on SEC Network and live stats will be available on statbroadcast.com. Glenn Davis (play-by-play) and Paddy Foss (color commentary) will be on the call.

SERIES HISTORY

Oklahoma and Texas are meeting for the 34th time. The Sooners won last year's meeting, 4-2, on Senior Day at John Crain Field. Returners Lexi Dendis and Kayla Keefer both tallied goals in the victory a year ago. OU is 2-1 against Texas under head coach Matt Mott.

IN THE RANKINGS

Oklahoma reached its highest ranking of the season, coming in at No. 21 in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Soccer OrganizationĀ for Coaches (IWSOC)Ā PollĀ as well as No. 18 in the Top Drawer Soccer Poll for the second consecutive week.

LAST TIME OUT

OU outshot No. 7/12 Alabama, but the Crimson Tide scored key goals at the end of the first half and at the start of the second half as the Sooners had their 11-match unbeaten streak snapped in a 3-1 loss Sunday, Sept. 27.Ā

THE SCOUT

Texas is in its first year under head coach Margueritte Bates and are 6-2-3 and 1-1-2 in Southeastern Conference play so far. Bates helped lead UCLA to a national championship in her first year as head coach of the Bruins in 2022. The Longhorns are coming off their first win in SEC play this season, a 2-0 win at Ole Miss.Ā

The Longhorns dropped a 3-1 decision to Arkansas to open SEC play, while playing two draws against No. 8/4 Tennessee and Florida. The Longhorns are unranked in the latest IWSOC poll while coming in at No. 22 in the Top Drawer Soccer poll this week.

Texas has posted 20 goals while opposing teams have scored 17 against them. Ava McDonald and Amalia Villarreal are tied for the team lead with four goals each.Ā

MAC HERMANN TROPHY RECOGNITION

Junior forward Kayla Keefer was named to the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List on Wednesday. Keefer is one of 30 players across the country tabbed to the list as she leads the nation in goals (15) and points (32) through 12 matches.Ā

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Freshman Kate McCallister earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors Monday after scoring the equalizer in the win at Georgia. It's the second such honor for the Sooners since joining the league after Ally Laccinole earned the recognition last season.

NOTABLE NUMBERS

1: Kayla Keefer needs one goal to set the Oklahoma single-season goals record. An assist or a goal would bring her to the OU single-season points record.

25: Freshmen Kennedy Kaiser and Kate McCallister have combined for 19Ā of the 25Ā points tallied by freshmen this season, with 10 coming from Kaiser's five goals and seven from three goals and an assist by McCallister.Ā

41: OU set the program single-season goals record Sept. 24, breaking the previously held mark of 38 which was set in 2024 and 2025.
