OU remains unbeaten through ten matches

ATHENS, Ga. — Oklahoma overcame a 1-0 deficit at the half with three goals in the second session as No. 24/21 Oklahoma (8-0-2, 2-0-0 SEC) defeated Georgia (3-3-3, 0-1-1 SEC), 3-1, Friday, Sept. 18. OU remains undefeated through ten games and is already only one goal shy of tying the OU single-season goals record of 38.

Georgia took a 1-0 lead with a goal from Emma Pettersen in the 10th minute. OU nearly equalized in the 17th minute, but the tying goal was taken off the board on an offside call. A Georgia defender headed back a free kick off her own post and Elle Canty gathered and scored, but the goal was taken away.

Kayla Keefer won the header on a great cross from Lexi Dendis before putting it just high of the goal in the 23rd minute, OU's best chance of the game up to that point. Keefer knocked on the door again in the 36th minute, sending a strike off the left post and out.

Georgia held a 1-0 lead despite the Sooners outshooting the Bulldogs after the first 45 minutes.

OU's pressure boiled over into a stretch of three goals across the final 29 minutes. Kate McCallister broke the ice, scoring on a header after a service from Elle Canty in the 57th minute.

Canty came up with the eventual winner in the 66th minute after skipping a cross into the box that caromed off a Georgia defender and in.

OU outlasted one of Georgia's final pushes as a shot sailed left and high in the 70th minute. After a foul, Paige Califf lofted a perfect ball on a free kick that Sophie Morrin headed in for the goal.
