LUBBOCK, TEXAS – The Oklahoma men's and women's track and field team finished its first away meet Saturday night at the Red Raider Invitational hosted by Texas Tech in the Sports Performance Center. Senior
Olivia Lueking secured a school record and six Sooners earned spots on OU's all-time performance list.
Graduate student
Paige Low immediately set the tone for the day in the women's shot put. On her fifth attempt, she posted a massive PR of 18.05m (59'2.75") to become one of two women in OU indoor history to throw more than 18 meters. Low improved her position in the NCAA ranks from sixth to second and earned the No. 2 spot in the SEC.
Next, freshman
Samuel Toili made his Oklahoma debut in the men's 600-yard run and earned second place. His collegiate-best time of 1:08.47 is No. 2 in OU history.
Following the 600-yard run, Lueking cleared 4.46m (14'7.50") to break her own school record set at the 2023 Big 12 Indoor Championship. Lueking improves her ranking to No. 3 in the NCAA and No. 1 in the SEC.
Junior
Agur Dwol followed up with her own personal best in the women's long jump, registering 6.18m (20'3.50") for the 10th-best jump in Oklahoma history and the sixth-best leap in the SEC so far this season.
Ralford Mullings made his OU debut in the men's shot put and made immediate changes to the Sooners' all-time list and NCAA rankings. He recorded 19.68m (64'6.75") for the No. 2 mark in OU history and took the No. 2 spot in the SEC and the NCAA for the 2025 indoor season.
2024 Cross Country All-American
Leah Jeruto competed for the first time this indoor season, collecting first place in the women's mile with a PR of 4:43.64, the fifth-best time ever recorded in OU's history.
A pair of Sooners raced in their respective 60-meter hurdles finals, both finishing sixth overall. Sophomore
Austin Kiser tied his collegiate best with a 7.95 and junior
Ally Stephenson posted a PR of 8.54.
In the afternoon, graduate student
Kassidy Gallagher threw 20.75m (68'1") for second place in the women's weight throw. Redshirt sophomore
Kennedy Clarke followed in third with a season-best toss of 19.75m (64'9.75").
Amanda Obijiaku, the Sooners' sole 60-meter dash finalist, clocked in at 7.40 for seventh place in the women's race.
Pole vaulter
Colton Rhodes cleared a personal-record 5.33m (17'5.75") for second place on the men's side.
To wrap up field events,
Jasmine Akins leaped a personal-record 13.13m (43'1.00") in the women's triple jump. She now ranks No. 6 in OU history and No. 16 in the NCAA.
A few distance races rounded out the running events for the Sooners. In the women's 800-meter run, freshman
Abby Jepchirchir made her T&F debut, clocking in at 2:09.04 for the seventh-best time in OU history. Connecticut transfer
Sophie Coughlin collected the best finish for the women's squad in the 3000m (9:52.91) for second place. Freshman
Evans Biwott, competing in his first collegiate race, took first place in the men's 3000m with a PR of 9:10.95.
