Women’s Team Adds Five Qualifiers to NCAA Outdoor Championships

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 14 Oklahoma women's track and field team concluded the last day of NCAA West Regionals Saturday night at E.B. Cushing Stadium. Agur Dwol (triple jump), Jenna James (400m hurdles), Leah Jeruto (steeplechase), Paige Low (discus throw) and Ashley Moore (triple jump) secured their entry to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore., June 11-14 with top-12 finishes in their respective events.
The women's team totaled eight qualifiers for the national championship after two days of action in College Station.
Paige Low earned Oklahoma's first entry of the day Saturday evening with ninth place in the discus throw. On her second attempt, she tossed 54.82m (179'10.00").
Triple jump duo of Agur Dwol and Ashley Moore clinched two more spots at the national meet with fourth and ninth-place finishes, respectively. Dwol leaped 13.65m (44'2.75") on her second attempt and Moore recorded a career-best mark of 13.48m (44'2.75") +2.0. With this jump, she climbs to No. 4 all-time in OU history.
Leah Jeruto followed up with first place in heat two of the 3,000-meter steeplechase, earning automatic qualification to NCAAs. Jeruto led the field the entirety of the race and went on to record the ninth-best time of the day with 9:58.74.
To wrap up the meet, Jenna James raced a career-best 56.71 in the 400-meter hurdles to secure her spot in Eugene. She finished second in heat two and sixth overall for automatic qualification, also grabbing the No. 3 spot on OU's all-time performance list.

Fifteen Sooners will travel to the campus of Oregon in Eugene, Ore., for the NCAA Outdoor Championships held at Hayward Field June 11-14 to compete for a national championship.
