NORMAN – For the first time since 2011, both a men's and women's track and field athlete have been selected for the CSC Academic All-America Team. Junior
Ralford Mullings was named to the first team and senior
Olivia Lueking, now a two-time recipient of the award, was named to the second team, the College Sports Communicators national office announced Wednesday.
Mullings, from Kingston, Jamaica, is the first Sooner in men's program history to be named a first-team Academic All-American. Prior to Mullings, five OU men's athletes collected two second-team honors and four third-team awards. Brandon Doughty secured Oklahoma's most recent Academic All-America accolade in 2016.
Lueking, a League City, Texas, native and four-time letterwinner for the Sooners previously claimed the honor after the 2022-23 season. She becomes one of three OU women to earn more than one Academic All-America accolade, joining Jacy Benett (2012, 2013) and Amy Backel (2008, 2009, 2010).
A five-time NCAA First Team All-American and conference champion, Lueking graduated in May with a 3.92 GPA in health and exercise science. She wrapped up her senior season with the SEC indoor and outdoor pole vault titles and a third-place finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Her indoor program record of 4.59m (15'0.75") ranks No. 14 all-time in NCAA history while her outdoor career-best mark of 4.57m (15'0.00") stands No. 20.
Mullings, who holds a 3.89 GPA as an industrial and systems engineering major, was the NCAA discus champion and USTFCCCA Division I National Field Athlete of the Year. His performance at the NCAA Outdoor Championships cements his status as the No. 2 athlete in collegiate history as his 69.31m (227'5.00") mark sits ninth on the all-time collegiate chart. He is the first Sooner in program history to earn a national title in the discus throw and earned Oklahoma's first individual outdoor championship since 2009.
The junior thrower was also named to the 2024-25 Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll and is a two-time recipient of the OU Athletics Outstanding Scholar-Athlete of the Year award (2023-24, 2024-25). Mullings bolstered his impressive season with the SEC Outdoor Championships discus title and three facility records at Baylor, Kentucky and Texas.
Lueking was added to the 2024-25 Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll and claimed her second OU Athletics Outstanding Scholar-Athlete of the Year award (2023-24, 2024-25) this season, building on her impressive career as a Sooner on the runway and in the classroom.
Redshirt sophomore
Kennedy Clarke, a 2025 NCAA outdoor honorable mention in the hammer throw, joined Lueking and Mullings on the CSC Academic All-District Team. While pursuing a degree in civil engineering on an accelerated master's degree track, Clarke scored for the Sooners at both SEC Championships, finishing fifth outdoors and seventh indoors.
