FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Oklahoma men's track and field team opened competition Wednesday at the NCAA West Preliminary Round, highlighted by Kennedy Stringfellow punching his ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Stringfellow qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore., with a ninth-place finish in the men's long jump after recording a mark of 7.76m (25'5.50") (+1.1). The Mississippi State transfer entered the meet with the No. 7 mark in the NCAA at 8.07m during his first outdoor season with the Sooners.
Stringfellow becomes the second Sooner to secure a spot at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, joining heptathlete Angel Richmore, who automatically qualified earlier this week.
