NORMAN — Oklahoma soccer head coach Matt Mott announced the hiring of Madisyn Pezzino as assistant coach Monday, May 18. Pezzino most recently served as an assistant coach with Ole Miss and played over 2,000 minutes under Coach Mott as a player for the Rebels.
"I am thrilled to add Madisyn to our coaching staff," Mott said. "She was a great four-year player and captain for us at Ole Miss and has developed into an excellent coach. I'm really excited to watch her work with our team. She has the character, drive and motivation that is going to really help us continue to elevate our program."
Pezzino finished up her first season as an assistant coach at Ole Miss. Prior to 2025 she worked as Ole Miss' Director of Analytics and Operations, taking care of all administrative operations for the program.
"I'm beyond excited to join the women's soccer staff at the University of Oklahoma," Pezzino said. "I'm looking forward to this new chapter of my coaching career and cannot wait to build relationships with the team and help contribute to the success of the program. Boomer Sooner!"
The Grand Island, New York, native started her collegiate soccer career at Florida State before transferring to Ole Miss where she played 2,160 minutes with nine goals and seven assists. In 2020 she tied for the team lead in goals and also earned SEC Offensive Player of the Week accolades. This September she will be inducted as a member of the New York State Soccer Hall of Fame Class of 2026.
