Sooners Set for Second Double Weekend

March 05, 2026 | Women's Gymnastics

NORMAN — The No. 1 Oklahoma women's gymnastics team will travel to Fayetteville, Ark., to face the No. 8 Arkansas Razorbacks on Friday, March 6 at 7:30 p.m. CT at Bud Walton Arena, before heading back home to host TWU for Senior Day on Sunday, March 8 at 1:45 p.m. CT at Lloyd Noble Center. Sunday's meet will honor student-athletes Ava Siegfeldt and Faith Torrez, along with student-manager Alyssa Ojeda.

Oklahoma has already seen both teams this season at the Metroplex Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas, on February 8. The Sooners earned a 198.175 to come out on top at the quad meet, while Arkansas totaled 197.700 and TWU tallied a 195.025.

QUICK FLIPS
• The Sooners are the only SEC team to have multiple athletes earn a perfect 10 this season (Mackenzie Estep [VT] and Addison Fatta [VT]).
• Beam has historically been one of OU's strongest events. That is reflected by the fact the Sooners' season high of 49.700 on Feb. 13 is only the 10th-highest score on the event in program history.
• OU has faced seven teams that were ranked in the top five at the time of competition this season and is 6-0-1 in those meetings.
• Oklahoma is the only team to score a 49.600-plus at least once on all four events this season.
• Senior Faith Torrez has been one of the most consistent beam workers in the country through her career, holding a 98.2% hit rate (56 of 57). Half (29 of 57) of her routines have resulted in a 9.95-plus score.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
No. 8 Arkansas: The Razorbacks enter Friday's meet as the No. 8 team in the country, coming off a 197.425-197.225 loss at No. 7 Missouri last Friday. Freshman Allison Cucci earned a career high 39.500 in the all-around, and senior Morgan Price earned a 9.925 on bars to claim a share of the title.

TWU: The Pioneers are making waves in the Division II realm, already besting three power four Division I schools this season, including No. 30 Arizona, No. 32 Arizona State, and No. 25 Oregon State. TWU has won 13 Division II National Championships, nine with program founder Frank Kudlac and four with current head coach Lisa Bowerman.

BACK-TO-BACK
For the second year in a row and the first time outright, the Oklahoma women's gymnastics team is the SEC regular season champion. The Sooners
posted a 197.975-196.150 victory over No. 15 Auburn on Friday night at Lloyd Noble Center to claim the 2026 league crown. With only one conference meet remaining and all other SEC opponents having at least two losses, the Sooners clinched the title outright with a 7-0 record. This is the 22nd conference title in program history and 16th under head coach KJ Kindler.

WEEKEND REWIND
Oklahoma topped No. 15 Auburn 197.975-197.150 inside Lloyd Noble Center to claim the SEC regular season championship.

Five athletes combined to sweep the event titles for the Sooners. Addison Fatta's 39.500 gave the sophomore her sixth all-around title of the season. Hannah Scheible secured the vault title with a 9.925, sharing it with Auburn's Paige Zancan. Lily Pederson tied her career high with a 9.95 to take the bars title, while Faith Torrez won her sixth beam title with a 9.95. Mackenzie Estep claimed floor with a 9.95 of her own.

EXCEPTIONAL ESTEP
Freshman Mackenzie Estep was named SEC Freshman of the Week for the fourth time this season following her performance against Auburn. Estep earned a career-high 9.95 on floor to secure her second title on that event this season and rise to No. 14 in the national rankings. She earned a 9.90 on vault to maintain her status at No. 4 in the national rankings. She now owns seven scores of 9.90 or above on the apparatus this year.

The No. 22 bars worker in the country, Estep has proven to be a consistent contributor in the OU bars lineup, notching a 9.875 to bring her total to nine scores of 9.85 or higher. Estep's three scores of 9.875 or better during the Auburn meet bring her total to 23 scores of such this year.

YOUNG AND HUNGRY
With 11 underclassmen on this year's roster, the Sooners are younger than they have been in the last few years. However, the freshman and sophomore classes have taken the reigns and have helped lead the team. The underclassmen have combined for 74% of routines competed in 2026 (163 of 240). The freshmen have contributed 64 routines through nine meets while the sophomores are responsible for 99. Mackenzie Estep, Addison Fatta, Elle Mueller, Ella Murphy and Lily Pederson have all competed at least three events multiple meets.

SWEET HOME OKLAHOMA
Oklahoma is 156-4 inside Lloyd Noble Center since the arrival of head coach KJ Kindler in 2007 and has posted 94 consecutive home victories across 63 meets dating back to 2014. The 2026 senior class is undefeated at home.
