April 05, 2026 | Women's Gymnastics

LEXINGTON, Ky. — With a 198.350 in the Lexington Regional Final, the No. 1 Oklahoma women's gymnastics team won its 16th straight NCAA Regional title to advance to the programs 22nd straight and 25th overall NCAA Championships.

The Sooners will be joined in Texas by another SEC team as Arkansas (197.450) placed second at the meet. Missouri (197.225) came in third and Ohio State (196.700) finished fourth. OU's 198.350 is the fourth highest regional score in program history.

For the second year in a row Faith Torrez was perfect in regional competition, earning a 10.0 on beam. Two of her three perfect scores on beam and three of her seven career 10.0s have come at regional competition in the last two seasons.

OU opened the meet with a 49.525 on vault to take the lead over Arkansas (49.400), Missouri (49.300) and Ohio State (49.050). The mark was the sixth highest in regional competition and first above 49.500 at regionals since 2023.

Mackenzie Estep's stuck 1.5 for a 9.95 was the high score of the rotation, followed by a pair of 9.925s from Addison Fatta and Elle Mueller. Elizabeth Blessey added a 9.875 on her front handspring pike half in the leadoff spot, while Keira Wells notched a 9.85. Vaulting for the first time since Feb. 20, Lily Pederson added a 9.85 as the anchor.

A 49.475 on bars had the Sooners at a 99.00 at the halfway point. Ella Murphy posted her seventh score of 9.90-plus with a 9.925 while Pederson added her fifth straight mark of 9.90 or better with a 9.90 in the leadoff position. Torrez tallied her seventh mark of 9.90-plus with a 9.925 and Hannah Scheible notched a 9.875. Fatta notched a 9.85 and Estep recorded a 9.80 in the middle of the lineup.

The Sooners used a 49.750, their highest event score of the season, on beam to extend their lead. The score was the second highest in regional competition and just the sixth score of 49.700 on any event at regionals in program history. All six athletes earned a 9.90 or higher with four going over 9.95.

Fatta and Wells got things started with stuck dismounts and matching 9.90s to set the tone for the rest of the rotation. Murphy and Pederson added back-to-back 9.95s in the No. 3 and 4 spots, respectively, while Mueller tied her career high with a 9.95 of her own. For the second time in her last three routines, Torrez was perfect, bringing her career total to seven.

A 49.600 on floor secured the Sooners would once again return to Fort Worth. Murphy led off with a 9.90, followed by a 9.90 from Fatta. Pederson added a 9.90 of her own while Wells notched a 9.875. Mueller tied her season and career high with a 9.950. In the anchor spot, Estep notched her fourth 9.95 of the year as all five counting scores were above 9.90.

The Sooners will compete at the NCAA Championships in Fort Worth, Texas, April 16-18. OU and Arkansas will compete in semifinals with the advancing teams out of the Corvallis Regional featuring Alabama, Minnesota, UCLA and Utah.
