NORMAN – The No. 17 Oklahoma men's tennis (13-5; 5-4) team swept Alabama (9-11; 3-6) 4-0 at the Headington Family Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon. The win marked Oklahoma's third straight conference win as the Sooners came off wins over No. 3 Texas and No. 14 Auburn.

Oklahoma took the doubles point to earn an early advantage in the dual. The Sooner pair on court one fell to their ranked opponents but the two and three pairs held steady in their matches to close out the first portion of the competition.

No. 37 pair Hank Trondson and Alejandro Melero picked up their seventh win of the season, 6-4, followed by a 7-5 result in favor of freshman Johan Rodriguez and junior Asahi Harazaki.

No. 108 Rodriguez led the way in singles play, coming off the court first yet again with a dominant 6-1, 6-0 showing at the four line. The most recent SEC Freshman of the Week has only dropped two games in his last two matches and has contributed the first two singles points in OU's last two competitions.

No. 58 Oscar Lacides extended his singles win streak to three matches following his 6-4, 6-0 score at the two spot. He earned his third ranked match of the season to add the third point to the scoreboard for OU.

No. 34 Luis Alvarez clinched the sweep for Oklahoma with a 7-5, 6-2 victory over No. 79 Vit Kalina. The senior improves to 12-2 on the season with five ranked results in his favor.
