Sooners Shutout LSU for Third Top-10 Victory

March 15, 2026 | Women's Tennis

NORMAN – The No. 10 Oklahoma women's tennis team notched its second top-10 win in as many weeks, defeating No. 7 LSU, 4-0, on Sunday afternoon at the Headington Family Tennis Center.

The victory marked the Sooners' third consecutive shutout and extended their winning streak to four matches.

Facing off against the Tigers in a top-10 contest for the second consecutive season, Oklahoma (14-4, 5-2 SEC) continued its doubles dominance, earning its 17th doubles point of the year to open the match.

At court three, Julia Garcia Ruiz and Salakthip Ounmuang posted a 6-2 win over LSU's Carolina Kuhl and Addison Lanton. The duo improved to a team-best 12-2 this spring and has now won four straight matches.

After erasing a 3-4 deficit, No. 37 Evialina Laskevich and Edda Mamedova rattled off three straight games to clinch the doubles point with a 6-4 win on court two over Florence Dekkers and Ella McDonald.

In singles, No. 71 Laskevich gave the Sooners a 2-0 lead on court one when her opponent, No. 52 Caden Brace, retired due to injury in the second set. The freshman held a 6-0, 2-0 advantage before the retirement.

Gloriana Nahum followed with a 6-2, 6-1 ranked win on court six over No. 120 Kinaa Graham. Chloé Noël clinched the match shortly after, defeating Kuhl 6-2, 6-0 on court four.

Up next, Oklahoma will look to extend its winning streak as it hits the road to Starkville, Miss., for a midweek, mid-afternoon meeting with Mississippi State on Thursday, March 19. First serve from the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre is scheduled for 3 p.m. CT.
