NORMAN – Oklahoma women's tennis head coach Audra Cohen announced the addition of transfer Zoie Epps to the 2026-27 roster on Friday.
Epps, a Norman, Okla., native, joins the Sooners following a standout three-year career at Louisiana Tech. The 2026 Conference USA Player of the Year compiled 73 career singles victories and recorded an NCAA Division I-leading 37 singles wins during the 2024-25 season, the most by any women's player in the country.
"Zoie brings the kind of competitiveness that elevates everyone around her," Cohen said. "As a Norman native, she has tremendous pride in the University of Oklahoma and has earned the opportunity to wear the Crimson and Cream. We're excited for the immediate impact she'll make on and off the court and the positive influence her competitive spirit will have on our program."
A two-time First Team All-Conference USA selection in both singles and doubles, Epps posted an 18-1 record while competing exclusively at the No. 1 singles position this spring. Her .947 winning percentage set a Louisiana Tech single-season program record, and she helped the Bulldogs' top doubles team climb as high as No. 50 in the ITA rankings.
During her sophomore campaign in 2025, Epps set Louisiana Tech single-season records with 25 dual singles victories and 20 doubles wins, becoming the first player in program history to eclipse 20 wins in both singles and doubles during the same season.
Epps attended Epic Charter Schools prior to her collegiate career and went to Louisiana Tech as a four-star recruit by TennisRecruiting.net. She was ranked No. 1 in Oklahoma and No. 143 nationally.
"Coming to OU has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl," Epps said. "I was born and raised in Norman, so it is surreal that my dream is coming to life. I chose to come here because I love the coaches and the intensity and expertise they bring. I know they are going to help me grow on and off the court. I am excited to rise to the challenge of the SEC and further my tennis career. Boomer Sooner forever!"
The Sooners will return to the court this fall after one of the most successful seasons in program history. Oklahoma captured a share of its first SEC regular-season championship in 2026, finishing 25-5 overall and advancing to the NCAA Super Regional round. The Sooners will open the 2026-27 campaign this fall, with a schedule to be announced at a later date.
