NORMAN – Behind its 14th shutout victory of the season, the sixth-seeded Oklahoma women's tennis team opened NCAA Championship play with a 4-0 sweep of Kansas on Saturday afternoon at the Headington Family Tennis Center.

The pair improved to 7-0 together this spring and 16-2 overall.

The Sooners carried momentum into singles, taking first sets on all six courts. Salakthip Ounmuang put Oklahoma on the board with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Meg McCarty at No. 4 singles.

No. 37 Mamedova followed with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over van Vuuren on court two. The Moscow, Russia, native entered her first NCAA Tournament after earning SEC All-Freshman and All-SEC Second Team honors.
