NORMAN – The No. 21 Oklahoma wrestling team suffered its first home loss of the season on Friday night, falling to third-ranked Iowa State, 29-10, at McCasland Field House.

The Sooners (8-4, 1-3 Big 12) showed resilience down the stretch, collecting three wins late in the dual, but were ultimately unable to overcome a slow start.

Iowa State (9-1, 5-0 Big 12) opened the night with back-to-back decisions at 125 and 133, then strung together four consecutive bonus-point victories through the middle of the lineup to build a commanding lead.

No. 8 Carter Schubert put the Sooners on the board at 174 pounds, earning his sixth ranked win of the season with a 5-1 decision over No. 13 MJ Gaitan.

At 184, No. 10 Brian Soldano followed with a gritty victory, scoring a takedown in sudden victory to defeat No. 12 Isaac Dean, 4-1.

No. 11 DJ Parker continued the late push at 197 pounds, notching his team-leading ninth bonus-point win with a 8-0 major decision over Iowa State's CJ Carter.

The dual concluded at heavyweight, where No. 1 Yonger Bastida closed the night with a 20-4 technical fall over Bradley Hill.

The Sooners face a quick turnaround as they host No. 13 Northern Iowa on Saturday night at McCasland Field House. First bout is set for 7 p.m. CT and the dual will stream on ESPN+. Saturday's matchup serves as Country Night, highlighted by an OU cowboy boot coozie giveaway.
