Wrestling Drops Road Dual at No. 17 Missouri

February 12, 2026 | Wrestling

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Despite an early lead and three ranked wins, Oklahoma couldn't overcome a middleweight skid in a 23-14 loss to Missouri on Thursday night in a top-20 showdown inside the Hearnes Center.

The No. 16 Sooners (10-5, 3-4 Big 12) earned victories at four weight classes but ultimately fell to the No. 17 Tigers (12-7, 5-2 Big 12). It marked the 61st career meeting between the only two Southeastern Conference universities that sponsor wrestling, while competing on the mat in the Big 12 as affiliate members.

No. 32 Conrad Hendriksen opened the dual at 125 pounds by knocking off Missouri's No. 26 Mack Mauger in sudden victory, 4-1. The win marked Hendriksen's second ranked victory in as many weeks as the redshirt sophomore continues his push toward his first NCAA Championships appearance in March.

At 141 pounds, No. 27 Tyler Wells squared off with Easton Hilton, with a second-period single-leg takedown proving to be the difference as the junior held on for a 3-2 decision to give the Sooners a 6-3 lead. Missouri responded with five consecutive wins to clinch the dual.

Despite the match being out of reach, Oklahoma's upperweights closed strong with back-to-back bonus-point victories at 197 and 285 for the third consecutive dual.

No. 11 DJ Parker controlled Missouri's two-time NCAA qualifier No. 12 Evan Bates from the opening whistle, tallying three takedowns, two four-point near falls and an escape en route to an 18-4 major decision. The senior, ranked No. 2 at 197 pounds in Thursday's initial RPI release, recorded his fourth straight major decision and ninth of the season while improving to 16-5 overall.

At heavyweight, No. 21 Juan Mora earned his second win of the season over Missouri's No. 25 Jarrett Stoner, this time via a 14-4 major decision. Mora has now won eight of his last nine bouts dating back to Dec. 13 at Rutgers as he continues his push toward his first NCAA qualification.
