NORMAN -- Oklahoma freshman Johan Rodriguez has been named the SEC Co-Freshman of the Week for the second straight week, the conference announced Wednesday.

Rodriguez provided two singles points and contributed to a doubles point win over the weekend against No. 14 Auburn and Alabama. The Sooners upset top-15 Auburn in front of a home crowd with a 5-2 result, bouncing back in singles after dropping the doubles point. Rodriguez provided the tying point for Oklahoma with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Freddy Blaydes on court four. His result set the Sooners up for success and his teammates on courts one and two sealed the win for Oklahoma.

The ITA No. 2 Newcomer continued his singles dominance in Sunday's match against Alabama where he was first off the court once again with a 6-1, 6-0 score to put the second point on the board for OU. Over the course of the weekend's singles matches, Rodriguez only dropped two games and extended his win streak to six.

Rodriguez has tallied 24 total collegiate wins, three of which have been over ranked opponents. Oklahoma has returned to the top-15 in the most recent ITA team rankings and Rodriguez's wins played a pivotal role in the team's success over the most recent slate of competitions. The Colombia native is Oklahoma's only freshman in the starting lineup and made a crucial impact in the matches against Auburn and Alabama and has made his mark on Oklahoma's spring season so far.
