NORMAN — The Oklahoma track and field team returns home to host the Crimson and Cream Qualifier on Friday, Feb. 20, at the Mosier Indoor Track and Field Facility.
The meet marks OU's final competition before the start of postseason action next week. Field events will begin at 10:50 a.m. CT with the first section of the women's shot put. The women's mile, scheduled for 12:30 p.m. CT, will open running events. Doors will open one hour prior to the first scheduled event, and admission is free for all spectators.
Meanwhile, four Sooners will compete on the road, as Domtilla Cheruto, Leah Jeruto, Jada Atkinson and Abby Jepchirchir travel to Fayetteville, Ark., for the Arkansas Qualifier. The quartet is slated to compete in the women's distance medley relay at approximately 2:45 p.m. CT.
The Sooners are coming off a productive split weekend in Fayetteville, Ark., at the Tyson Invitational and in Seattle, Wash., at the Husky Classic. Oklahoma added five marks to the program's all-time top-10 lists along with several indoor personal bests across the two-day competitions.
Highlighting the weekend, Kyren Washington claimed the event title in the men's WA Silver high jump in Fayetteville, clearing 2.22m (7'3.25") in a field of 12 professional and collegiate athletes.
With the indoor postseason set to begin next week, Oklahoma sits at No. 7 in the USTFCCCA TFRI national rankings on the men's side. The Sooners hold the No. 1 national mark in the men's high jump and rank No. 5 nationally in the women's triple jump. Kennedy Stringfellow (long jump) and BJ Green (triple jump) each hold the No. 1 mark in the nation in their respective events.
The Sooners are in their second season in the SEC, one of the premier conferences in collegiate track and field. In their inaugural season, Oklahoma captured eight individual conference titles and finished fourth on the women's side at the 2025 SEC Indoor Championship. At the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships, the men earned a sixth-place finish, the program's best outdoor nationals result in 28 years.
