Kate McCallister was named Southeastern Conference (SEC) Freshman of the Week per the league Monday, Oct. 5. It's the second honor of the season for McCallister and her second in three weeks.
McCallister scored the opening goal in OU's Red River Rivalry matchup against Texas Sunday, Oct. 4. It was McCallister's third goal on the road this season, with the other two coming in wins at Oklahoma State and Georgia.
The midfielder is the first two-time SEC Freshman of the Week in program history. She is also the first Sooner since Kaylee Dao in 2019 to earn multiple weekly conference honors in the same season.
The freshman out of Rowlett, Texas has four goals and 11 total points this year. She has started all 12 matches she's played in, averaging over 70 minutes per game on the pitch.Ā
OU starts the second half of SEC play against Auburn at home Friday, Oct. 9. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
