NORMANĀ ā The reigning Southeastern Conference (SEC) Offensive Player of the Week added national honors on Tuesday as Oklahoma Soccer junior forward
Kayla Keefer was named Top Drawer Soccer Player of the Week as announced by the publication Oct. 20. She also earns a spot on the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week with the award.
Keefer registered four goals and an assist last week while tallying a hat trick in the 6-1 win at Ole Miss Sunday. Her performance at Ole Miss tied her with Abby Wambach in 2000 for the most hat tricks in a single season by an SEC player.
The Bloomsburg, Pa., native helped OU go 2-0 on the week and clinch a spot in the SEC Tournament after reaching 15 points in the conference table.Ā
Her goal at Mississippi State Thursday provided insurance in OU's 2-0 win against the Bulldogs while also breaking the OU single-season goals scored and points totaled record. The mark was previously held by Whitney Palmer, set in 2009.Ā
Keefer leads the nation with 19 goals and 41 points with two more regular season games on the schedule. OU hosts Arkansas for Senior Night this Friday at 7 p.m.
