Tallied Four Goals This Past Week

NORMANĀ  — Junior Kayla Keefer was named Southeastern Conference (SEC) Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the league Monday, Oct. 19. It's her second such honor of the season after being recognized Aug. 17.Ā

Keefer scored four times during OU's 2-0 week, tallying a hat trick at Ole Miss yesterday and a goal Thursday at Mississippi State. The Sooners earned a 2-0 win at MSU and a 6-1 victory in Oxford on Sunday, helping OU clinch a spot in the SEC Tournament.Ā

The forward set the Oklahoma single-season goals scored and points record on Thursday, breaking a tie with Whitney Palmer in 2009 when she tallied 15 goals and 32 points for the Sooners.Ā

Sunday's performance gave her four hat tricks on the season and two in SEC play, extending her program record for hat tricks in a year. Keefer needed only 36 minutes to score three times yesterday. She also added an assist in the win, bringing her to 41 points on the year.Ā

Keefer leads the nation in goals (19), points (41) and shots on goal per game (2.69).

The Sooners host Arkansas Friday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. for Senior Night.
