NORMAN - Oklahoma volleyball earned its second consecutive top-15 victory Sunday afternoon, sweeping No. 9 Texas 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 30-28) in front of 2,280 fans at McCasland Field House.
Just four days after knocking off defending national champion No. 12 Texas A&M in five sets, Oklahoma needed only three to take down the ninth-ranked Longhorns. The victories secured the Sooners' first back-to-back wins over ranked opponents since 2009 and the first time in program history they accomplished the feat in consecutive home matches.
Sunday's victory was also Oklahoma's first sweep of a ranked opponent since taking down No. 2 Texas on Oct. 25, 2014, and its first home win over the Longhorns since 2011. The win was Oklahoma's first over a top-10 opponent since defeating No. 9 Texas on the road in 2024.
