March 28, 2025 | Rowing
NORMAN – The University of Oklahoma rowing team returns to the water this weekend for the season opener in Columbus, Ohio, facing off against host school Ohio State and Michigan on Griggs Reservoir.
The Sooners officially compete for the first time this season at the Saturday morning dual after scrimmaging earlier this month against Texas and SMU on White Rock Lake in Dallas. The 2025 season marks head coach Sarah Trowbridge's third year at the helm for the Sooners. The 2024 season was highlighted by a fifth-place showing at the Big 12 Championships, including three top-five boat finishes.
Saturday's regatta will begin at 8 a.m. CT with the 1N8 competing first, followed by the varsity fours at 8:30 a.m. Oklahoma will race against Michigan in the morning session, followed a matchup with Ohio State in the afternoon. The competition will be available to watch via subscription on Big Ten Plus and live results will be available via HereNOW.
The Sooners will next compete April 5 in a scrimmage against Vanderbilt in Oklahoma City before heading to Sarasota, Fla., for the Big Ten Invitational on April 18-19 at Nathan Benderson Park.
