OAK RIDGE, Tenn. — The No. 25 Oklahoma rowing team collected six race wins and 15 top-three finishes over two days at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational on Melton Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn., to open its 2026 spring season.
"The Cardinal Invite has been a great regatta to brush the winter off and start spring break right," said head coach Sarah Trowbridge. "We've got a good sense of our strengths and weaknesses, and the team is ready to get back to work. It was great to see our fellow competitors, and we're looking forward to the upcoming season."
Oklahoma opened the regatta Saturday morning against Navy and Louisville with a strong showing, claiming four race wins. The 2V4+, 1V4+, 2V8+ and 1V8+ each secured first-place finishes, while the 3V8+ added a second-place result to pace the Sooners.
Facing No. 14 Indiana and No. 19 Duke in Saturday afternoon's session, Oklahoma tallied four second-place finishes and a third-place result. The 2V4+, 1V4+, 2V8+ and 1V8+ each finished runner-up in their respective races, while the 3V8+ placed third.
