Rowing Announces Spring Schedule

NORMAN – University of Oklahoma head rowing coach Sarah Trowbridge announced the program's 2025 spring schedule on Tuesday, a slate that features four regattas and one home event at Exchange Boathouse in Oklahoma City.
"We're kicking off our first championship season in the SEC with an aggressive race lineup against top teams in the country," said Trowbridge. "We know this will challenge us and showcase our team's culture of, 'Train hard, race hard and have fun pursuing top speed.'"
Oklahoma opens the spring slate by meeting SMU and Texas for an exhibition scrimmage at Whiterock Lake in Dallas, March 8-9.
The Sooners officially open their season on March 29 in Columbus, Ohio, with a duel against Ohio State and Michigan. A week later, Oklahoma hosts Vanderbilt for a scrimmage in Oklahoma City on April 5. The scrimmage, hosted at Exchange Boathouse, is OU's only home event of the spring season.
The Sooners travel to Sarasota, Fla., April 18-19, for the Big Ten Invitational at Nathan Benderson Park. OU is one of 23 teams competing at the invite, joining two fellow SEC opponents, Alabama and Tennessee.
Oklahoma finishes the regular season April 25-26 at the Longhorn Invitational in Austin. It will mark the ninth time in the last 15 years OU has raced in the regatta. In OU's last showing at the Longhorn Invite in 2021, three Sooner boats took home top-three finishes.
The postseason will begin May 11 at the first SEC Championship on Melton Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn. 2025 marks Oklahoma's inaugural campaign in the conference after 15 years in the Big 12, and the first year for the SEC to sponsor the sport of rowing. The Sooners placed fifth overall at the Big 12 Championship in 2024, registering three top-five finishes. Then-senior Emma Lazenby earned All-Big 12 honors.
The NCAA Rowing Championships take place May 30-June 1 at Lake Mercer in West Windsor, N.J.
