Oklahoma's Ryder Cowan Selected as SEC Golfer of the Week

NORMAN – Oklahoma men's golfer Ryder Cowan was named the SEC Golfer of the Week on Wednesday following his historic victory at the 2nd Swing Gopher Invitational.
The senior, who rose to No. 2 in the PGA Tour University rankings this week, captured his third career victory Monday at Windsong Farm Golf Club, carding rounds of 72-63-65 to finish at 13-under 200 and win by six shots. His 54-hole total set a Gopher Invitational scoring record by two strokes and moved him into fourth place on Oklahoma's all-time wins list. Cowan's second-round 63 also established a tournament record and marked the second-lowest round of his career.
A preseason All-American, Cowan has now competed in 41 events for the Sooners, recording 26 top-20 finishes, 17 top-10 finishes and 11 top-five finishes. Monday's victory joined his wins at the 2025 Ka'anapali Classic and 2026 Valspar Collegiate Invitational.
The SEC weekly honor is the second of Cowan's career. The Edmond, Okla., product previously earned SEC Golfer of the Week honors following his victory at the Ka'anapali Classic in November 2025. Additionally, the senior was an All-SEC selection last season.
Cowan and the Sooners return to action Sept. 28-29 at the Ben Hogan Collegiate at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, where they will take on one of the strongest fields in college golf.
