Conference Play Starts With Missouri at Home

NORMAN — After an undefeated non-conference slate, Oklahoma Soccer opens its third year in the Southeastern Conference by hosting Missouri Friday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. from John Crain Field.

SERIES HISTORY

OU and Missouri have met 16 times, with the last meeting in Norman coming nearly 15 years ago in October of 2011. Missouri and OU have played once as SEC foes, a match in Missouri in 2024

IN THE RANKINGS

Oklahoma earned a spot in the latest Top Drawer Soccer poll, coming in at No. 24 on Monday. It's the second time this season that the Sooners have been ranked in the poll.

PROMOS ON THE PITCH

Friday's game is Military and First Responders Appreciation Night with an American flag themed hat as the giveaway. A large contingent of the Pride of Oklahoma band will be there and featured events also include a touch-a-truck on site and postgame fireworks.

LAST TIME OUT

Fernanda Dantas scored the opener in the 43rd minute and the Sooners clung to that lead for 41 minutes, but No. 14/23 BYU got the equalizer in the 84th as OU and BYU played to a 1-1 draw in Provo Saturday, Sept. 5.

SEC OPENERS

• OU opens SEC play at home for the second time in three years and for the first time since the 2024 season. OU's last two SEC openers have been against Mississippi State (2024) and at Kentucky (2025).

THE SCOUT

Missouri is 3-3-1 and 1-2-1 on the road this season. The Tigers' wins have come against Southeast Missouri State, Northern Illinois and Murray State. Their losses have been to Saint Louis, Missouri State and Creighton. Missouri has posted 12 goals, while allowing four, with Landis Canada and Lana Adams leading the team with three apiece.

UNDEFEATED IN NON-CONFERENCE PLAY

The Sooners went 6-0-2 in non-conference play, turning in an undefeated sheet for the second year in a row. Prior to 2025 the Sooners had never gone undefeated in non-conference play. The Sooners outscored opponents, 31-5.

SEC AND NATIONAL RANKINGS

The Sooners lead the SEC in points (90), goals (31), and goal differential (26). OU also ranks second in the country in all of those categories only to Purdue. Individually, Kayla Keefer leads the nation in game-winning goals (3), goals/game (1.38), points/game (3), shots on goal per game (2.88), goals (11) and points (24). Lexi Dendis ranks second in the SEC in assists (5), which is good for ninth in the nation.

NOTABLE NUMBERS

0: The Sooners set a program record by not allowing a goal through the first four games. OU's +26 goal differential is the best in the SEC.

11: Kayla Keefer's 11 goals leads the nation and is only five from tying the Oklahoma single-season goals scored record. The junior scored seven in her sophomore season and OU debut last year.

21: Freshmen Kennedy Kaiser and Kate McCallister have combined for 15 points this season, with 10 coming from Kaiser's five goals and five from two goals and an assist by McCallister. Classmates Brenna Hallam and Avery Brand have chipped in with six points, five of which have come from Hallam and another from Brand.

90: Sophomore back Ally Laccinole has played 90 minutes five times this year, including in OU's tie at No. 14 BYU.
