Pitchers Shine on Milestone Day

March 08, 2026 | Softball

NORMAN — In an afternoon that saw Oklahoma Softball's bats produce a historic pace to 100 home runs on the season, OU's pitching staff put together 12 innings of one-run ball as the No. 4 Sooners defeated Louisiana, 2-1, and Abilene Christian, 9-0, Sunday, March 8 in the Okana Invitational finale.

Ella Parker's two-run home run in the win against Louisiana (15-10) not only won the game but gave OU its 100th home run on the season, marking the fastest a team has reached the 100 home run mark in NCAA history.

Miali Guachino, Audrey Lowry, Sydney Berzon and Kierston Deal combined to allow just a solo home run in Sunday's two victories.

OU 2, Louisiana 1
Miali Guachino didn't allow a hit through the first 3.2 innings, maintaining a 2-0 lead after Ella Parker's milestone two-run home run to left center in the third. Louisiana finally got on the board in the sixth on a Kennedy Marceaux home run, but Audrey Lowry retired every batter she faced as the Sooners held off UL.
