The Sooners grabbed a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first, using a two-run double from Pickering and an RBI single from Agbayani to highlight the frame.
Wichita State threatened by getting two runners in scoring position in the second, but Agbayani made a play on a sharply hit grounder to end the threat.

Pickering and Agbayani provided key solo home runs in the fifth, growing the lead to 6-3 through five frames.
