Four Sooners Earn First Team All-America Honors at NCAA Indoor Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. —The Oklahoma men's and women's track and field teams concluded competition Saturday at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships inside the Randal Tyson Track Center. The Sooner men finished 11th nationally with 18.5 points, marking the program's best indoor finish since 1997.

Oklahoma opened competition Friday in the men's long jump, where Kennedy Stringfellow recorded a leap of 7.62m (25'0.00") to place 12th and earn Second Team All-America honors.

Kennedy Clarke added another Second Team All-America performance in the women's weight throw, finishing 15th with a toss of 19.71m (64'8.00").

Looking to add points on the final day, Oklahoma's high jump trio delivered a strong showing for the Sooners. Kyren Washington cleared 2.24m (7'4.25") to claim the NCAA Indoor silver medal, marking his second career podium finish at the national indoor meet and the fourth First Team All-America accolade of his career.

Trey Bartholomew added valuable points with a fifth-place finish after clearing 2.18m (7'1.75"), becoming a First Team All-American. Tyson Ritz followed with a clearance of 2.15m (7'0.50") to place tied for seventh and also secure First Team All-America recognition.

On the women's side, Hannah Pfiffner concluded her impressive debut indoor season with a tied-for-11th finish in the high jump, clearing 1.80m (5'10.75") to earn Second Team All-America distinction.

The Sooners closed the meet in the men's triple jump. Senior BJ Green registered a leap of 16.64m (54'7.25") to finish fourth and claim the fifth First Team All-America honor of his career. Floyd Whitaker added a 15.87m (52'0.75") jump to place 14th, becoming an indoor Second Team All-American for the second consecutive season.
