LAS CRUCES, N.M. — Carrying the power it showed in Arizona last weekend, No. 4 OU Softball (5-1) belted 12 home runs, including eight in one game, en route to run-rule wins against Montana (3-3) and New Mexico State (3-4) Friday, Feb. 13.
The Sooners hit eight homers, three of which came from redshirt-senior
Isabela Emerling, in a 17-0 win against Montana. OU followed with eight runs in the third inning to defeat New Mexico State, 18-6, in game two.
Oklahoma is up to 27 home runs through six games.
In the circle Mialia Guachino turned in 4.1 hitless innings to earn the win, while
Audrey Lowry earned her fourth win with 3.1 innings of work in relief.
No. 4 Oklahoma 17, Montana 0
OU scored six runs in the second and another six in the fifth. Emerling became just the eighth Sooner in program history to hit three homers in a game, tying the program record.

Kasidi Pickering all went deep in the effort.
OU's eight home runs are its most since setting the NCAA and program record with 13 against UTEP in 2021. It was one more than the team's seven home runs against No. 17/18 Arizona last week.
Sooner homers accounted for 14 of OU's runs.
Ella Parker drove in another with a sac fly, Barker drove in one with an RBI single and a fielding error plated another.

Lexi McDaniel followed with an RBI single to center.
New Mexico State replied with two runs in the first and one run in the second, cutting OU's lead to one. The Sooners unleashed eight runs in the third, widening the lead to 12-3. OU's big frame was highlighted by a two-run double from
Kai Minor and a bases-clearing double from Garcia.
NMSU's Kendal Lunar hit a three-run homer in the fourth, but a six-run fifth keyed the run-rule victory for the Sooners.
