Donaldson Tabbed as SEC Freshman Golfer of the Week

NORMAN – Oklahoma freshman women's golfer Ryan Donaldson was named the SEC's Freshman Golfer of the Week on Wednesday, earning the honor following her collegiate debut at the Schooner Fall Classic.
Donaldson tied for sixth at the Schooner Fall Classic, carding rounds of 67-72-65 to finish at 6-under (204). The McAlpin, Fla., product recorded a team-high 14 birdies, including six in her final round. Donaldson entered the final round outside the top 20 before firing a 5-under 65 at the par-70 Belmar Golf Club to climb into the top 10.
The Sooners have now earned back-to-back SEC weekly honors, as Meg Tilma was named the SEC Golfer of the Week following her victory at the season-opening tournament. Donaldson is the second Sooner to earn SEC Freshman of the Week honors, joining Tilma, who received the award following her performance at last season's Schooner Fall Classic.
A consensus top-100 player in the 2026 recruiting class, Donaldson was an eight-time Florida State Golf Association champion. She won the 2023 FSGA Tour Championship and captured the 2026 Florida high school state championship.
The Sooners return to action Sept. 29-30 at the NB3 Match Play Championship at Twin Warriors Golf Club in Santa Ana Pueblo, N.M. The event will be broadcast live on Golf Channel.
