NORMAN — Oklahoma freshman
Mackenzie Estep was named SEC Freshman of the Week for the fourth time this season after her performance Friday.
Estep earned a career high 9.95 on floor to claim the event title and help propel the Sooners to a 197.975-197.150 victory over No. 15 Auburn on Friday. Estep has contributed in every vault, bars and floor lineup this season.
The freshman earned a 9.90 on vault to maintain her status at No. 4 in the national rankings. She now owns seven scores of 9.90 or above on the apparatus this year.
The No. 22 bars worker in the country, Estep proves to be a consistent contributor in the OU bars lineup, notching a 9.875 to bring her total to nine scores of 9.85 or higher.
With her energetic routine, the freshman earned a career high 9.95 on floor to secure her second title on that event this season and raise her to No. 14 in the national rankings
Estep's three scores of 9.875 or better bring her total to 23 scores of such this year. The freshman's consistent contribution has propelled the Sooners to their second straight SEC Regular Season title and first outright.
Estep and the Sooners will be back in action for a double weekend, taking on No. 8 Arkansas Friday, March 6, at 6:45 p.m. CT, before heading home for senior day against TWU Sunday, March 8, at 1:45 p.m. CT. Both meets are set to be aired on SEC Network +.
