NORMAN —
BJ Green has been named the SEC Co-Indoor Track and Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the league announced Tuesday. He shares the honor with Samuel Ogazi of the University of Alabama and Calvin Wetzel of the University of Tennessee in a vote by the league's head coaches.
Green becomes the first Oklahoma track and field athlete to earn the award in the program's second season as a member of the Southeastern Conference.
A senior from Ruston, La., Green owns a 3.21 cumulative GPA as an electrical engineering major and was named a 2023-24 USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete.
On the track, Green is one of the nation's premier triple jumpers. He won the 2025 NCAA outdoor title after earning bronze at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships. He also claimed the 2025 SEC outdoor championship and currently holds the nation's top mark at 16.85 meters (55 feet, 3.50 inches), which stands as Oklahoma's indoor school record.
In 2024, Green earned bronze at the NCAA Outdoor Championships after sweeping the Big 12 indoor and outdoor conference titles. He is a multiple time All-American and qualified for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in the triple jump.
Green will be recognized at the upcoming SEC Indoor Championships, set for later this week at Fasken Indoor Track & Field in College Station, Texas.
