CARLSBAD, Calif. – The Oklahoma women's golf team climbed four spots on the leaderboard in the second round of the NCAA Championships on Saturday and sits in 21st place after 36 holes.

With one round remaining before the championship's first cut, the Sooners (21, +23) are aiming to break into the top 15 by the end of Sunday's play to secure a spot in the final round of stroke play at Omni La Costa's North Course in Carlsbad, Calif. Oklahoma has finished in the top 20 in each of the program's last five team appearances at the NCAA Championships.

Junior Savannah Barber (T67, +5) continues to lead OU. She tallied one fewer birdie than in the opening round, matched her bogey count and added a double bogey to finish 5-over and tied for 67th.

Three Sooners — junior MaKayla Tyrrell, senior Reagan Chaney and freshman Audrey Rischer — are tied for 80th at 6-over. Rischer paced the team in the second round with a 1-under 71, posting two birdies on her front nine and a lone bogey on the back.

Junior Gracie Mayo (T150, +18) rounds out the lineup in 150th.

OU will need a strong showing in Sunday's third round, entering the day 10 shots behind the 54-hole cut line. The top 15 teams after three rounds will advance to Monday's final round of stroke play, with the top eight moving on to match play to determine the national champion.

Top-ranked Stanford is the only team under par, sitting at 5-under following a 10-under team round on Saturday. Mississippi State's Avery Reed leads all individuals at 7-under.

The Sooners tee off Sunday at 2:12 p.m. CT. Live scoring is available on ScoreboardLive.
