Sooners Head to Florida for The Gator Invitational

NORMAN – Oklahoma women's golf heads back to Florida to compete in the Gator Invitational, slated for Friday through Sunday at Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament will be played at the par 70, 6,002-yard course. Teams will play 18 holes each day with a 9:30 a.m. CT start, while the final round on Sunday will be a shotgun start at 10 a.m. CT.
"We've had a few weeks off and are excited to get back out on the course," head coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell said. "We're looking forward to the challenge of competing against a strong field this weekend."
In their last outing, the Sooners finished as the runner-up in the 15-team field at the Spartan Sun Coast Invitational in Sarasota, Fla. Oklahoma was led by Gracie Mayo, who tied for fifth at 2-over, while Audrey Rischer and Savannah Barber each recorded top-12 finishes. The Sooners posted rounds of 299-303-286 at Palm Aire Country Club to finish four shots behind reigning national champion Northwestern.
The Sooners are part of a competitive field that features multiple ranked programs, including No. 7 Florida and No. 13 North Carolina. Oklahoma sits 25th in this week's Clippd rankings.
"We played some really good golf in our last event," Drouin-Luttrell said. "The goal now is to keep building on that as we move through the spring season."
The Sooners lineup features Savannah Barber, Gracie Mayo, Audrey Rischer, Reagan Chaney, Satonkan (Earn) Thiengsri and Raychel Nelke who will be competing as an individual.

Campbell, Clemson, FAU, FIU, No. 7 Florida, Georgia Southern, Miami, Michigan, No. 13 North Carolina, No. 25 Oklahoma, South Alabama, USF and Virginia.
