NORMAN — Oklahoma Rowing finished its regular season slate at the Longhorn Invite in Austin, Texas, with one win and four second-place finishes Saturday morning on Lake Walter E. Long.
Friday's contest only saw three races finish before being canceled due to weather conditions. OU's 3V8+ took second place, finishing with a large 30-second close ahead of SMU.
The 2V4+ saw the most success this weekend, taking home a first-place finish on Saturday morning. The 3V4+ followed closely, taking second in the same race. OU's 1V4+ raced shortly after, tallying another second-place finish for the Sooners. The 1V8+ continued the team's streak, securing an additional second-place finish to cap off the morning races.
Oklahoma begins postseason competition at the SEC Championship on May 11 on Melton Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn. The 2025 season marks Oklahoma's inaugural campaign in the conference after 15 years in the Big 12, and the first year for the SEC to sponsor the sport of rowing. The Sooners will face Alabama, Tennessee and Texas.
