Rowing Announces Coaching Staff Additions

NORMAN — University of Oklahoma head rowing coach Sarah Trowbridge announced the addition of three assistant coaches Monday morning. Sydney Large, Grace Trujillo and Yoav Siebzehner will join the staff ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Large joins the Sooners after most recently leading the women's rowing team at Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) from 2024-26. Prior to her stint at MSOE, Large started her collegiate athletic career at the University of Minnesota before finishing at the University of Central Oklahoma, where she was a part of the 2023 National Runner-Up team. Large has also served as a coach at the Texas Rowing Center, where she helped lead her team to a Texas State Championship, and at RIVERSPORT in Oklahoma City.
"Sydney is a get-it-done person with a team-first attitude, and that's exactly what we wanted in this role," said Trowbridge. "She's proven she can take on a lot of responsibility with a variety of program experience behind her, and I love how strongly she believes in developing out-of-sport athletes into DI Rowing performers"
Trujillo comes to OU after serving as assistant coach at The University of Tulsa as an assistant coach for three seasons. Before that, she served as the coaching intern at the US Rowing U19 Women's High Performance and Olympic Development Program for a last year (2021-22). Trujillo has also served as the head coach for the developmental squad and as an assistant coach for the boys and girls varsity teams at the Atlanta Junior Rowing Association for three years (2020-23).
Trujillo rowed at UCF for two years (2018-20) and then concluded her collegiate career at Washington State (2020-23). As a sophomore at WSU, Trujillo helped the Varsity 4+ boat finish second in the petite final and eighth overall at the 2021 NCAA Rowing Championships. She was a member of the Varsity 4+ and Varsity 8+ crews as a senior and the 2nd Varsity 8+ as a junior. She earned her bachelor's degree in kinesiology in May 2023 from Washington State. She holds a US Rowing Level I certificate.
"I was looking for an analytics mind with a great work ethic, and Grace is just that person," said Trowbridge. "I also love how much she appreciated the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity women's college athletics provides, and there is no reward greater than pursuing championships with your team."
Siebzehner joins the Sooners after a stint at Northwestern University, where he served as the volunteer assistant coach and was a member of the 2026 CRCA Regional Coaching Staff of the Year. As an athlete, Siebzehner is a six-time Israeli National Champion and an Israel national record holder.
"I'm thrilled to bring Yoav on as a lead recruiter and coach," said Trowbridge. "He's genuine, he loves getting to know people, and he pairs World Rowing experience and strong coaching education with the kind of work ethic only top rowers have."
