Sooners Compete in Fall Opener in OKC

Norman – The Sooners started their fall season at the Head of the Oklahoma on Saturday at Devon Boathouse. Oklahoma faced Alabama, Wisconsin, Kansas and Tulsa in two-and-a-half mile heads and 500-meter sprints.
The women's collegiate pairs notched three top-five finishes, besting 24 other boats. OU's singles claimed first, second and fourth.
The women's collegiate four bested 15 boats, securing a spot in the top 10. Oklahoma also captured first and third in the women's collegiate eights with all four of its entries recording top-10 finishes.
The OG&E NightSprints comprised five OU entries - one 4-, two petite 8+ boats and two 8+ boats. The 4- finished second in the six-boat race. The Sooners' 8+ and petite 8+ placed first and second in both races, besting Wisconsin and Alabama.
Oklahoma returns to the water on Sunday, Nov. 3 in Princeton, N.J. at the Princeton Chase.
