Wendy Plummer joined Oklahoma Athletics in 2010 and serves as the Insurance and Administrative Manager. In this role, she serves as the liaison with offices on and off campus, medical providers and student-athletes’ families to pay for all qualified medical expenses and manages all aspects of HIPAA for the Athletic Department. She also supervises undergraduate students and graduate assistants in the administrative and business functions of the division, and assists in budget administration for Athletic Medicine – monitoring medical claims expenditures, verifying expenses, and reporting those expenditures to athletic training staff and department administration.
Prior to her time at Oklahoma, she was the owner and consultant of Wyckoff Consulting, LLC from 2008-2009. She executed medical practice start-up on time and within budget constraints, hired initial staff, acquired necessary equipment, evaluated insurance contracts, created HIPPA and OSHA manuals and assisted with site selection. Plummer also provided on-site staff training on financial, human resource, EMR system selection and regulatory compliance issues and managed building operations.

Prior to Wyckoff Consulting, she served as a Practice Administrator for Arbor Family Medicine, PC. In that role, she coordinated HIPAA and OSHA compliance training and development of employee manuals, risk management techniques and standard operating procedures. She also boosted profits by improving provider billing, coding, and insurance claims management, restructured business operations to include aggressive budgeting, forecasting and oversight of cost centers including all equipment and supply purchases and was the primary liaison with vendors and business service providers.

Wendy earned her Bachelor of Arts in political science and educational studies from Washington University in St. Louis. She earned her MBA from the George Mason University School of Management and her second Masters degree from OU in adult and higher education with an emphasis on intercollegiate athletic administration.

Wendy’s family in Norman includes her husband Larry, a former Price College of Business professor, her son Jacob and their two dogs, Rookie and Daisy.

Outside of work, she is an avid reader, baker, and home cook. She regularly volunteers for the Ronald McDonald House and donates her time to her local food bank. She plays in a Masters’ League (40+) soccer league year-round.
