Ryan Majercik joined the Oklahoma Athletics Department in October 2023 as associate athletics director for strategic marketing and fan engagement.

Majercik oversees marketing strategy and fan engagement initiatives to deliver a first-class experience to OU fans, and integrates marketing plans with ticket sales, fundraising campaigns and sponsorship activations to generate additional revenue for OU Athletics. Additionally, he partners with university and community leadership to continuously build and align the OU brand.

The veteran sports marketer and athletics administrator arrived in Norman with over a decade of experience at the college and professional levels. Most recently, Majercik served as a client marketing manager for Ticketmaster and roughly 20 of its NFL, NBA, NHL and MLS clients. He consulted with a portfolio of major professional sports teams to identify best practices in marketing, ticket sales, business intelligence and creative content to recommend campaign strategies that drive ticket sales and attendance for each team.

Prior to Ticketmaster, Majercik spent more than five years in marketing leadership roles at two SEC institutions in Missouri and Alabama. From April 2021- June 2022, he served in two different capacities as associate athletics director at Missouri. Majercik led marketing strategy and ticket sales efforts before managing the Tiger Scholarship Fund's annual giving program.

Before relocating to his home state, the Kansas City native served as assistant athletics director for strategic marketing and fan development at the University of Alabama from April 2017-April 2021. His primary responsibilities included management of marketing and fan experience operations for the Alabama football and men's basketball programs. He also oversaw marketing and promotional planning for all other Crimson Tide teams and led additional fan engagement initiatives, including the department's rewards program, student loyalty program, kid's club and game day experience upgrade program. During his final two years at Alabama, Majercik also instructed the university's undergraduate sport marketing course as an adjunct professor.

He rejoined the Crimson Tide after serving as assistant athletics director for marketing at the University of Rhode Island from June 2015-April 2017. Majercik led marketing, branding and fan experience initiatives for the Rams while serving as sport administrator for the softball program. He arrived at Rhode Island after an earlier stint at Alabama as assistant director of marketing from October 2013-June 2015. He managed marketing efforts for the Crimson Tide soccer, women's basketball and baseball programs while leading the launch of the department's outbound ticket sales team.

Majercik began his career in ticket sales roles at Missouri State University and the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in marketing from Fort Hays State University, where he was a four-year member of the Tigers' baseball team, before earning his Master of Business Administration from Alabama.

Majercik and his wife, Liz, a native of Farmington, Mo., reside in Norman with their sons, Maddox and Everett.
