Kyle Butcher joined Oklahoma Athletics in August of 2018 and serves as the Assistant Athletics Director for Headington Hall Operations.

In this role, he is responsible for the administration, operation, management, and supervision of the various areas of Headington Hall which includes residence life, dining operations, facilities management, retail spaces and event management. Overall, Butcher and his team aim to truly create an incredible first year experience and home away from home for Headington residents—comprised of 51% traditional students and 49% student-athletes.

Prior, Butcher has worked in many capacities at OU, including the Union Programming Board, Student Life, Leadership Development & Volunteerism, and Housing & Food Services. Additionally, he has taught courses for both the College of Professional & Continuing Studies and University College — and won an Outstanding Instructor of the Year award.

He hails from Muldrow, Oklahoma. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a Master of Arts in adult and higher education, both from the University of Oklahoma.

Outside of work, Butcher loves spending time with his wife Kacee and his two daughters, Blakely and Hattie. He also enjoys volunteering at his kids’ school, Eisenhower Elementary, where he chairs the school’s jog-a-thon. His other interests include running, travelling, and all things Marvel. He was named one of Norman NEXT’s 2023 NEXT Under 40 recipients.
