NORMAN -- Oklahoma freshman
Johan Rodriguez named SEC Freshman of the Week once again after picking up two doubles wins and a singles victory against a pair of ranked opponents.
The freshman contributed to Oklahoma's two doubles point wins over the weekend on the road at No. 11 Georgia and No. 21 Florida. The Colombia native also assisted in the Sooners' sweep over the Bulldogs with a point in singles.
Rodriguez notched his 13th singles win of the season, tying teammate
Luis Alvarez for the most singles wins on the season. The freshman has won seven of his last 10 singles matches and is 9-2 at the four singles position. Rodriguez and doubles partner
Asahi Harazaki are on a three-match doubles win streak and have clinched the doubles point against both Georgia and Florida.
He remains ranked in the March 31 ITA singles rankings at the No. 119 spot. The freshman has three ranked wins in his freshman season alone and continues to solidify his status as the No. 2 ITA newcomer.
