No. 11 Sooners Shut Out ORU

March 31, 2026 | Baseball

TULSA, Okla. — No. 11 Oklahoma cruised to a 3-0 win over Oral Roberts Tuesday night in Tulsa.

The Sooners (20-8) were propelled by a career night from starting right-handed pitcher Michael Catalano. The sophomore went five innings of two-hit ball with no walks and seven strikeouts. It was both a career-long outing and career-high strikeout number.

Freshman Nick Wesloski was as impressive out of the bullpen, going three innings of scoreless pitching with five strikeouts, both career highs. Junior Isaac Williams finished the job, hurling a scoreless ninth while allowing one hit.

OU junior designated hitter Brendan Brock provided the offense for Oklahoma, hitting a three-run home run in the first inning for his seventh of the year. The bats were quiet on both sides until the ninth when the Sooners tacked on an insurance run. Brock and freshman Alec Blair registered consecutive base hits and junior catcher Deiten Lachance plated Brock on a sacrifice fly to center.

Catalano, Wesloski and Williams combined on OU's fifth shutout of the season and third game with zero walks. Oral Roberts (14-12) registered just five hits in the game.
