NORMAN — Three Sooners scored and the OU defense didn't permit a shot on goal as No. 20 Oklahoma Soccer (5-0) shut out Louisiana Tech (1-3-1), 3-0, Thursday, Aug. 28.
Naomi Clark,
Kayla Keefer and
Hadley Murrell all chimed in with goals, while
Caroline Duffy logged her second clean sheet of the season.
The Sooners are now 13-0 in home non-conference matches under head coach
Matt Mott and are one win shy of tying the best start to a season in program history.
No. 20 OU 3, Louisiana Tech 0
Clark put OU up in the 11th minute, scoring her second goal in as many games and fifth at home this season.
Kayla Keefer and
Lexi Dendis played beautiful passes to Clark who slotted the shot inside the left post.
Despite outshooting Louisiana Tech, 11-0, in the first half, things remained 1-0 at the break.
Luciana Setteducate had arguably OU's next best scoring opportunity in the first half, putting a shot on frame in the 28th minute that was saved.
As has been the theme this year, OU started the second half strong, putting the game out of reach. After scoring a penalty kick Sunday, Keefer earned her first goal in the run of play in the 52nd minute after through passes from Clark and
Hadley Murrell.
Murrell was on the receiving end of a beautiful cross from Dendis, heading in an arching shot into the back of the net in the 65th minute.
Louisiana Tech didn't muster up a shot until late in the second half as the Sooners outshot the Lady Techsters, 26-1.
