Sooners Tabbed No. 22 in Coaches Poll, No. 25 by Top Drawer Soccer

NORMAN — After starting the year with 4-1 wins against Creighton and No. 22 Oklahoma State, Oklahoma Soccer was tabbed to the national polls by the United Soccer Coaches and Top Drawer Soccer. OU came in at No. 22 in the coaches poll and No. 25 by Top Drawer Soccer.

OU is ranked in the United Soccer Coaches poll for the first time since starting the 2017 season ranked No. 16. It's the Sooners' first in-season ranking since coming in at No. 25 in the 12th week of the 2016 polls.

The Sooners are one of five Southeastern Conference (SEC) teams ranked in the United Soccer Coaches Poll, while three more are receiving votes.

Oklahoma's win against No. 22 Oklahoma State Sunday, Aug. 19 was its first against a ranked team since a 2-1 win against TCU in 2022. It was also OU's first win against OSU in the regular season since 2018.

Individual accolades have also come in for the Sooners this week. Ally Laccinole was named SEC Freshman of the Week and Naomi Clark was selected to Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week.

The Sooners stay at home to host East Texas A&M Thursday, Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. The match will be streamed on SEC Network+.
