NORMAN – A nation-leading four Oklahoma men's golfers were named PING All-Americans by the Golf Coaches Association of America, the organizations announced Monday.
Jase Summy earned second-team honors,
Drew Goodman was selected to the third team and
Ryder Cowan and
Clark Van Gaalen received honorable mentions. Under 16th-year head coach
Ryan Hybl, Oklahoma has now produced 35 All-America selections and had multiple honorees in eight of the last nine seasons.
Summy, fresh off a 3-1 showing for Team USA at the Arnold Palmer Cup, earned his first All-America nod after a record-setting junior campaign. The Keller, Texas, product won the 2025 Maridoe Collegiate and notched seven top-10 finishes, including five in the spring and a tie for 10th at the NCAA Amherst Regional. His -0.67 scoring average ranked among the top 10 in program history and his 20 rounds in the 60s set a new OU single-season record.
Goodman capped his career as just the 12th three-time All-American in program history with his 2025 third-team selection. A second-team All-SEC pick, the Norman native finished with a career scoring average of -0.31, the second-lowest in OU history. He played 154 rounds, third most all-time for the Sooners, and set the program record with 96 rounds of par or better. Goodman ranked 15th in the final PGA Tour University standings and secured status on PGA Tour Americas – OU's eighth PGA Tour University graduate since 2020.
Cowan earned his first full status All-America recognition as a sophomore, following his Freshman All-American team selection in 2024. The Edmond, Okla., product led the Sooners with 10 top-20 finishes this year, including six top 10s and three top fives. His 71.04 career scoring average (-0.06) ranks second in program history over a career-opening, two-year span, just behind Summy.
Van Gaalen became an All-American as a freshman with his honorable mention nod, Oklahoma's first since Goodman in 2022 and just the third under Hybl. The Turlock, Calif., native was also named to the GCAA Freshman All-America team last week. In his debut season, he played 31 rounds and posted two runner-up finishes at the NCAA Amherst Regional and the Ka'anapali Classic. His 15-under 197 at Ka'anapali was the sixth-lowest 54-hole score in program history and the best ever by an OU freshman.
OU's four selections matched Arizona State, Auburn and Florida for the most in the country. The total also ties for the third most in program history, trailing only five honorees in 2021, 1989 and 1987.
The quartet helped power Oklahoma to a 14th straight NCAA Championships appearance and a return to match play for a nation-leading seventh time since 2016. The Sooners have finished in the top 10 nationally in eight of the last nine seasons.
Summy, Cowan and Van Gaalen are all slotted to return to Norman for the 2025-26 season.
