Three Sooners Earn Golfweek All-America Honors

June 04, 2025 | Men's Golf

NORMAN – A trio of Oklahoma men's golfers earned Golfweek All-America honors, the publication announced Wednesday.

Jase Summy was named to the second team, Drew Goodman earned third-team recognition and Ryder Cowan received an honorable mention. Oklahoma has now produced 34 All-American selections under 16th-year head coach Ryan Hybl and has had multiple selections in eight of the last nine seasons.

Summy, a junior and All-SEC first-team selection, earned his first All-America nod after one of the best seasons in program history. The Keller, Texas native won the 2025 Maridoe Collegiate and tallied seven top-10 finishes including five in the spring and a T10 finish at the NCAA Amherst Regional. His -0.67 score against par ranked among OU's all-time top 10 and his 20 rounds in the 60s set a new program record. He will represent the United States at the Arnold Palmer Cup beginning June 5 and is the fifth Sooner to play in the event.

Goodman closes his career as Oklahoma's 12th three-time All-American, adding 2025 third-team honors to previous selections in 2022 and 2023. An All-SEC second-team pick as a senior, the Norman, Okla., product posted a career scoring average of -0.31, the second lowest in program history. His 96 par-or-better rounds were the most ever by a Sooner and his 154 rounds played ranked third all-time at OU. He finished 15th in the final PGA Tour University ranking and secured status on PGA Tour Americas.

Cowan earned his first All-America honor after being named a Freshman All-American last year. The Edmond, Okla., native led the team with 10 top-20 finishes in 2025 including six top 10s and three top fives. His career scoring average of 71.04 (-0.06) is the second best two-year mark in school history just behind Summy.

The All-American trio helped guide Oklahoma to its 14th straight NCAA Championships appearance and back into match play for a nation-leading seventh time since 2016. The Sooners have now finished in the top 10 at the national championship in eight of the last nine seasons.

All three Sooners, along with Clark Van Gaalen who was named a Freshman All-American last week, are also eligible for PING Golf Coaches Association of America All-America honors, which will be announced next week.
